Porsche is one of the best-known car brands in the world. If you are a fan of Porsche or you are just looking for extra information on the German car manufacturer. Look no further as we have done our research and here is everything you need to know about Porsche. Let’s first talk about the history of the company.
Porsche was founded in 1931 in Stuttgart, Germany by Ferdinand Porsche, Adolf Rosenberger and Anton Piech. The brand’s logo actually is of the Stuttgart coat of arms. One of the first assignments the company received was by the German government to manufacture a car for the people. This was when the founders of Porsche created “Volkswagen”. As the word “Volks” translates to people and “wagen” translates to car, so it literally means “people car”. This was when the Volkswagen Beetle was created. Interestingly, the Porsche 64 that was first manufactured in 1939 was created by using some of the same parts as the VW Beetle.
In World War II, the VW Beetle Porsche that had been produced prior to the war, was turned into a military version of the Beetle, for German soldiers to use in war, which was known as the Kubelwagen.
Today Porsche is one of the world’s leading luxury car brands. As we have mentioned in our previous blogs, many car buyers and car enthusiasts appreciate German-engineered cars and Porsche is a prime example of why so many people love German cars. Porsche is still very much a German company, despite their worldwide success, as all their car parts are manufactured in Germany.
According to AutoWerks, Porsche is known for having extremely high quality shock absorbers, which makes the cars glide and drivers experience a very comfortable ride, when they drive a Porsche.
The company is also known for creating luxurious sports cars that have a definite wow factor. The Porsche 911 is a good example of a sporty Porsche that definitely turned heads and stays in car enthusiasts minds.
German cars are known for their amazing quality features, such as the smooth steering, high quality leather seats and for having all the latest technology in the interior of the vehicles and Porsche is no exception to this rule.
If you are familiar with the hit movie “Legally Blonde” you will have noticed that the main character, Elle Woods drives a top of the range Porsche Boxster. It appears that the spoiled “It girl” chose to drive a Porsche when she could pretty much afford any car and endorsements like these are reasons why Porsche is such a well loved brand in the luxury car industry.
Porsche is particularly popular in North America, many Hollywood celebrities own a Porsche and publicly talk about how fond they are of Porsches. David Beckham has been the owner of many Porsches and many other English footballers and Premier League footballers also use Porsches as their preferred mode of transportation.
As generally the price tag of Porsches are usually quite high, it also appears to be a high status thing to be able to own a Porsche. Some people aspire to own a Porsche at some point in their life.
The models of Porsche that the company currently produces and sells are:
Porsche 911– as mentioned previously the Porsche 911 is an iconic sports car that happens to be one of Porsche’s best selling cars in the UK.
Porsche 718– is the less powerful version of the Porsche 911, making the car more fuel efficient and practical for day to day driving.
Porsche Boxster– as we have mentioned above, the Boxster was featured in the early 2000s film “Legally Blonde” and to this day the Porsche Boxster is still a best seller for Porsche.
Porsche Macan– The Porsche Macan is a 4×4 version of the Porsche, they have quickly become a popular luxury car to purchase here in the UK and they even make great high end family cars.
Porsche Cayenne and Porsche Taycan– are other examples of larger sized Porsches and whilst they are big in size, they still remain sporty and they have all the iconic features that smaller sized porsche have, such as the special analog clock that is featured on the dashboard of every modern day Porsche ever manufactured.
