April 1, 2022

If you just can’t get enough of cars or if you are a frequent car buyer, then not to worry we have done our research and we have put together a list of top tv shows for car enthusiasts to watch. Keep reading to find out more!

BBC’s Top Gear

How could we do a list of the top tv shows for car enthusiasts without mentioning Top Gear? The show as we know it was rebooted in 2002 and it has been one of the BBC’s most popular shows ever since, it even got people who weren’t really into cars viewing the show because of the comradery between the original presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

In 2015, Jeremy Clarkson was removed from the show and he and his co-presenters decided to start their own show, The Grand Tour. Top Gear is still running and the show is still very popular with car lovers.

Amazon’s The Grand Tour

You can’t mention Top Gear without mentioning The Grand Tour also. We have The Grand Tour because of Top Gear. If you are a fan of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May then The Grand Tour is definitely a show you should watch.

What is different about The Grand Tour compared to Top Gear is that the premise of The Grand Tour is set in different locations around the world and therefore it has a live audience of people from different countries, so it gives the show a more international feel, so, therefore, the show is more inclusive. The presenters also have more freedom to mess around and be more controversial on Amazon compared with the BBC, so if you are looking for even more car comradery, then The Grand Tour is well worth watching.

However, to be able to watch The Grand Tour you will need to pay a monthly subscription to Amazon Prime, so we recommend also looking at the other shows Amazon has to provide before making a monthly payment commitment.

Netflix’s The Fastest Car

This is a show which is relatively new to our screens. It is an American produced tv show which has been around since 2018. This show is ideal for those who love fast cars as the premise of each show here are three sleeper cars that go up against one supercar in a quarter-mile drag race. The winners of each episode get to move on to the championship race at the end of the season. It sounds like a good show to us!

To watch Netflix you also need to pay a monthly subscription, if you do not already have an account with the broadcaster.

BBC’s Car Girls

This is a documentary that follows the lives of girls and women in the UK who have chosen to work with racing cars. Women and girls don’t usually get much coverage in the car racing world so it is refreshing to see women being represented in the motoring world.

Dave’s Yianni: Supercar Customiser

Yianni: Supercar Customiser is a unique show, most car shows are about cars being fast and how well they can perform, but this show is about car aesthetics, so how people can improve the look of a car. Yianni and his team specialise in wrapping high end and luxury cars, celebrities and professional footballers use his services, so if you are into looking at spectacular supercars, then this show is definitely for you.

Yianni also has a successful YouTube page where his fans are able to watch a day in his life and you can watch cars being wrapped and how Yianni’s team work.

Jay Leno’s Garage

Jay Leno was known for being a primetime American TV show host, on his retirement from hosting chat shows, he decided to film a TV show about cars, as he himself is a car enthusiast. He gives car reviews and other types of vehicle reviews as he has lots of knowledge and experience with numerous vehicles.

BBC’s Gassed Up

Gassed Up is a new show on BBC Three that is aimed at younger audiences who enjoy watching shows about amateur car racing. Celebrities join each week to challenge racing drivers, so it is entertaining for those who want to watch their favourite celebrities race cars.
